Amazon Links is a Wordpress plugin for adding relevant and contextual links to Amazon.com products. It generates code automatically and allows full customization of how and when contextual links appear within your content.
Users benefit from a direct link to products relevant to your content. For example, if you write an article about a great book that you read, a compelling movie you saw or an amazing new product you used, Amazon Links provides a direct link to that product on Amazon.com so your users can explore the product further.
If you want to make money off your content, consider installing Amazon Links Pro. The Pro version allows additional customization, such as adding your Amazon Associates ID so you can directly profit from people that click on the links and buy products from Amazon.com.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are Amazon Links?
Amazon Links is a tool to automatically identify and link contextually relevant phrases within your content to Amazon products. Links can be configured as conventional links or so that when a user hovers over any of these links, a small window appears showing a preview of the appropriate product from Amazon. It will also allow you to control the location and number of links on each page. In addition, Amazon Links can save you the time needed to manually create text links within your content.
How do Amazon Links work?
After you add the Amazon Links script to a Web page, our systems crawl your content and identify the contextually relevant phrases with the highest monetization value and closest match to Amazon products. When a visitor hovers over an automatically linked phrase for more than 400ms, a small window appears next to that link showing a preview with useful information about a relevant Amazon product. Visitors can click through the link or the window to learn more about the product and purchase it from Amazon.
Note that your site must allow our spider (Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; AMZNKAssocBot/4.0)) to crawl your Web site. The crawl is needed in order to identify the content of your Web site and determine appropriate phrases to link. If you do not allow our spider to crawl your Web site(s), Amazon Links will not be able to link anything. How do I add Amazon Links to my blog?Installing should be a piece of cake and take fewer than five minutes.1. Upload amazon-links.php to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.3. Sit back and wait for your content to be crawled4. Within 30 minutes, contextual links will appear on your siteHow long will it take after I add the Amazon Links script to my page before phrases will be automatically linked? If our systems have already processed your Web page then we take only a few seconds to create the automatic links. If you have added the script to a new page which has not been processed by our systems yet, it will typically take a few minutes to determine the phrases to link. However it also depends on how fast your Web site serves the content to us and how much traffic your Web page receives. Will Amazon Links on my page be updated automatically if my Web page content is dynamic?Yes. Over a period of time our systems will automatically determine how frequently your page changes and re-process the page accordingly. Will Amazon Links affect my page’s performance?
Since the script will be located at the bottom of your Web page, it will not affect the rendering of any other elements on the page. Your visitors may notice their browser continuing to “work” after your page has loaded until the links are created.
How can I get Amazon Links to only link product names?
Amazon Links tries to link a range of different phrases on your page in order to give you maximum benefit. However if you wish to restrict Amazon Links to linking to product names only, then you can check the “match exact product names” check box on the Amazon Links options page.
Can I restrict the categories of products that are linked by Amazon Links?
Yes! You can use the Advance Settings to select the specific categories of products that you know that you want to have Amazon Links create links to.
Will Amazon Links link an already linked phrase?
Amazon Links will not override any of the standard href links. If you use any other method to dynamically generate links on your Web site, it is possible that the scripts which create those links might link the already linked phrases. We recommend placing the Amazon Links script on your page such that it gets executed after all the other scripts of your page are executed.
What happens if someone clicks on an automatically linked phrase?
A click on an automatically linked phrase will take the user to the Amazon site showing relevant information about the product for which the phrase is being linked.
What do visitors to my Web site need to do to see Amazon Links?Amazon Links are rendered using JavaScript. Therefore, visitors to your Web site must have JavaScript turned on in order to see them. If visitors to your Web site don’t have JavaScript enabled in their browsers, Amazon Links will not have any effect on the Web page. Why are you not linking any phrases on my Web page?Time taken for initial processing: Amazon Links systems only process Web pages after they have been viewed several times on your Web site (typically 2-3 times). Until then no phrases will be linked on the page. Note: In some cases it can take up to 3-4 hours until the Amazon Links systems figure out phrases to link on the page.Javascript placed in wrong position: Please place the Amazon Links code snippet after your content and before your closing “body” tag. If your site is built using templates, you can paste this code into the “footer” or other end-of-page template, just as long as it comes after your content and before the final “body” tag.You do not allow our systems to crawl / spider your Web site: You must allow our spider (Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; AMZNKAssocBot/4.0)) to crawl your Web site. The crawl is needed in order to identify the content of your Web site and determine appropriate phrases to link. If you do not allow our spider to crawl your Web site(s), Amazon Links will not be able to link anything.Usage of Frames: Amazon Links will only create links within the frame in which JavaScript is added. No appropriate phrase or already linked phrases: Amazon Links will not link anything if it is not able to determine any appropriate phrase or if the determined phrases are already linked.Content change: If the content has changed and enough time has not lapsed for our systems to re-process your Web page for the new content, it will fail to link the phrases on your Web page
Too many existing links: If there are already a number of links on a page, Amazon Links may not link any new phrases. This determination is primarily based on the current link density of the page and the maximum number of links configuration option.
